The removal of the building that could have been the MYA Clubhouse
These are photos of the building we were offered for five hundred pounds. As you can see the removal was a straight forward tow away, then on to two low loaders. The condition of the building was excellent and would have served us well for at least 10 years, long enough to raise funds to build a permanent building. All the costing of the purchase and removal, plus erection was within MYA's budget. The decision of the MDL Board not to allow us land to rent to put this clubhouse on, has been a setback to Maryport marina in the loss of revenue from visitors, and berthholders. Many have viewed their decision as short-sighted.
We now hope the new Harbour Authority will move forward and make the right decisions, enabling the marina to successfully thrive.
We missed a bargain! The building came with carpets, fittings including gas cooker and fridge, calor gas central heating and a disabled toilet.
